Episode 104 – Sheroes

In this episode, Heather and Liz sit down to discuss Sheroes: the women who inspired us as we grew up and influenced how we saw life. This term is also used to describe women who fight for women’s equality and rights. The term can be a little controversial, since the term “hero” is supposed to be gender neutral, but usually is geared towards men.

Sheroes

Who inspired us growing up? We talk about our direct sheores when we were kids, and some of the lack of female representation in the world (and some that were always there, but have just recently came to know about). Family, athletes, historical, and fictional figures all make the list.

Who inspires us NOW? Who are the women today who inspire us to work on making the world a better place? Public figures, media gurus, fictional women, and the youth of America.

Who are our historical female heroes? We each highlight a women in history who shaped the way we see the world, whether we knew their names or not. Hint: Heather and Liz both chose women from NASA’s history. Click HERE for the photo Heather references in the episode.
